DataWeave, a Bangalore-based retail and business intelligence startup, raised an undisclosed Series A round led by Japanese ad-tech firm FreakOut Group. Silicon Valley investor Herb Madan, existing backer Blume Ventures and a group of unnamed institutional investors from the US, India and Singapore also took part. Co-founder and chief executive Karthik Bettadapura said the capital would fund sales, marketing and customer success efforts, with a particular push into North America, along with scaling the company's data products.
